Merel Deelder


Merel is a teacher and freelance journalist, focusing her work around sustainability and food matters. In her free time, she makes a good effort to eat a vegan diet and she dreams of having her own food forest in the future.


Merel has both a MSc. in Sustainable Development and a BSc. in Psychology from Utrecht University, and a BA. in Journalism from the Hogeschool Utrecht. Amongst others, she has written for the Dutch news medium De Correspondent, and the Belgian food platform Eos Tracé. She’s an editor at the Dutch magazine Genoeg, writing about sustainable living and at the Vrije Hogeschool she teaches sustainable development.
