Lukxmi is part of EIT Food’s Business Creation team and leads the Seedbed Incubator, which provides talented entrepreneurs with the skills, coaching and funding to transform their very cool inventions into commercial solutions that address the current pressures facing our food system . She believes that entrepreneurs, especially those from diverse backgrounds who bring unique knowledge and perspectives, are the secret sauce to rebuilding a better food system. As the co-host of the EIT Food Fight podcast, she gives EIT Food’s pipeline of talented entrepreneurs a platform to share their vision for a healthier, more sustainable and equitable future of food.
Lukxmi has spent the past 15 years developing solutions that address big health challenges. After a decade as a cancer researcher, she has spent the past 8 years facilitating entrepreneurial scientists to bring their research to the market and improve the lives of many. Most recently, she was part of the founding team of a biotech spin-out company aiming to revolutionise the control of disease-causing insects. Lukxmi has a BSc in Biochemistry & Genetic Engineering from McMaster University, Canada; a research MSc in Microbiology & Immunology from the University of Ottawa, Canada and a PhD from the University of Oxford, UK.
