Whether as an editor, crime writer, chairman of the Food Editors Club or consultant, Jörg always focuses on food and drink. Sometimes, he pursued this passion as editor-in-chief, sometimes as a freelance journalist, sometimes as publisher of his own magazine. As a consultant, he specialises in seafood and frozen food. But today, he sees himself primarily as a crime writer. Jörg calls himself “Jan Rolfsmeier” and sets the stories on his favorite island, Amrum.

EXPERIENCE

Growing up in the food retail sector, Jörg mastered coffee roasting at the age of 15. After a few semesters of biology and classical training as a daily newspaper editor, he quickly switched back to food. For more than ten years, he developed and managed German and English-language seafood magazines. He then went freelance and worked as a consultant for, among others, the World Food Organization, German development cooperation, fair trade and international seafood marketers. After many successful years as a publisher, he now returned to writing himself.
